Even with the warm temps, the fishermen have not been venturing out. This is so typical for January. There were fish being caught last weekend though. Lots of walleyes again and some perch.

The ice is approx. 8 inches at this time and the walleye fishing is pretty good. The first ice walleyes are usually the large ones but some 12 to 14 inch eaters are being caught also.

Fishing is a little tougher today but not bad. I have to go back a little bit to update the reports with excellent fishing. On Saturday the 24th of Sept. I caught and released a 28 1/2 inch walleye on a 5' ultra light pole. Later on I caught a 25 1/2 inch northern that I snagged in the back. What fun that was. I ended up with 3 eater walleyes and 32 perch that day. I kept nothing under 8 inches and my largest was 12. The next day I caught some more nice perch along with the next day. Then I had to go back to Wisconsin for a very special wedding. I have not seen the fishing like this in a very long time. I am catching a lot of very nice perch. But I think that the smaller ones are the tasty ones. Linda

I only have one group in that is doing very good and it has been slow. A lot of small perch are being caught but the walleyes are still pretty active.

The girls-Sue,Wendy,Kathy,Alyssa,and me went out fishing yesterday and really got some nice fish. We had many many perch over 10 inches with the largest being over 12. Total we had 166 perch and 10 eater walleyes. What a fantastic day we had and the company was great. Linda

The walleye fishing is still good to excellent. A lot of eater size are being caught with a lot in the 17 to 19 inch range. The perch fishing is picking up with the somewhat cooler temps.

I have not gotten any fishing reports from anyone lately. It looks like a ghost town around here. I have a group coming in today and will give you a report if I hear one.

The fishing has been good to excellent. I am still seeing a lot of really nice walleyes being caught and the perch are starting to make a comeback on size.
